BGDAS is a charity that supports people affected by domestic abuse who live in the Blaenau Gwent area. The service currently supports male and female victims aged 16 and over and provides safety advice, practical and emotional support and group programmes. The service also provides preventative and individual work with young people aged 11 – 25yrs. BGDAS has reached an exciting point in its development into a Family Safety Centre. As part of this expansion they are seeking to appoint:

PERPETRATOR MANAGER- MALE ONLY *

35 hours per week

Salary £27,779 per annum

This post is funded by Big Lottery for 3 years and includes a pension and private healthcare.

They are looking to employ a dynamic individual with experience of working with challenging individuals, offenders or perpetrators of domestic abuse. Their role will be to:-

Develop and deliver a package of individual and group programmes to facilitate change in the behaviour of perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Work closely with all other staff at Phoenix House to ensure the safety of victims and children.

Deliver presentations and training to outside agencies.

 *Due to the nature of this role BGDAS will be considering male applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9)

 

Children’s Support Worker – Part Time

20 hours per week

Salary £24,233 Pro Rata

This post is funded by Big Lottery for 3 years and includes a pension and private healthcare.

The role of the individual will be to:-

Develop and deliver a package of one to one support for children aged 4 – 11 years who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Deliver preventative work in schools and to educate children about healthy relationships.

Multi-Agency Domestic Abuse Awareness Training

Dates: 14th & 15th September 2010

Time: 9.30AM—4.00PM

Venue: Phoenix House, Surgery Road,

Cost: £50.00 inc. all training materials and lunch

Target Group:

Those people regularly providing services and/or working directly with people who are affected by domestic abuse.

Aims:

To raise awareness of the impact of domestic abuse upon children and families.

To increase understanding of how best to offer help and support.

To raise standards of practice both individually and collectively.

**15 spaces available with a limit of 3 attendees from each agency**
