What is domestic abuse?

Domestic abuse is when one person threatens, is violent to or abuses (emotionally, financially or sexually) another person they live with, are in a relationship with or were going out with.

Have you been affected by domestic abuse at home?

Children & young people can experience domestic abuse by;

  • Hearing the violence/abuse
  • Witnessing the outcome– physical cuts, bruises or the emotional impact
  • Getting physically hurt as a result of intervening or getting ‘caught up’ in an attack
  • Being deliberately hurt by the abuser to upset the victim

Are you being affected by abuse within your own relationship?
